Dr. Sanjay Gupta, M.Sc. (Biochemistry) Ph.D. (Biochemistry)

Prof. and Head, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, P.E-22 Yrs

He has qualified CSIR-NET-1990, GATE-90 AND ICFRE-1990 pursuing research in Life Sciences. He holds more than 22 years of teaching and research experience and has secured his doctoral degree from IIT, Roorkee. He has supervised 90 Post graduate dissertations, 12 Doctoral thesis and another 05 students are working under his supervision for their Ph.D. His publications include 75 peer reviewed Research Papers in National and International Journals of repute and presented more than 100 papers in conference and published 03 books. He is also associated as PI/CO-PI of six projects sponsored by UCOST, DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Dr. Gupta was also a Member of Task Force for HRD development in Biotechnology in Uttarakhand in 2005, State Biotechnology Program, Government of Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand, Dehradun.

Dr. Vikash Singh Jadon, M.Sc. (Microbiology), Ph.D. (Forest Genetics)

Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, P.E-13 Yrs

He has 10 years of teaching and research experience from Forest Research Institute (FRI). He has supervised 36 Post-graduate, 02 Doctoral thesis and another 05 students are working under his supervision for their Ph.D. His publications include 37 Research Papers in National and International Journals of repute. He is recipient of prestigious Brandis Prize-2009, for the best research paper in Silviculture. He has presented more than 20 papers in conference, published 02 books, 1 book chapter and 6 gene sequences submitted in the International GeneBank. Dr. Jadon has been associated as PI/Co-PI in 04 research projects funded by Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology, Uttarakhand. His area of expertise is related to molecular biology, genetic engineering and plant biotechnology.

Dr. Barkha Kamal, M.Sc. (Botany), Ph.D. (Forest Botany)

Dr. Barkha Kamal has 9 years of teaching and 13 years of research experience. She has supervised 17 Post- graduate thesis and she has been associated with 1 Research Project as Co-PI funded by Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology, Uttarakhand, focusing the research on plant morphogenesis of high altitude medicinal plants by establishing Plant Tissue Culture facility at SBSPGI. She has published 30 International and National research papers, presented 07 papers in Conferences and submitted 04 gene sequences in the International Gene Bank. Her area of expertise is related to botany, taxonomy, plant biotechnology and tissue culture.

Dr. Rina Rani Singh, M.Sc. (Zoology), Ph.D. (Wildlife Sciences)

She has qualified UGC accredited SLET - 1993. She has 8 years of teaching experience and 12 years research experience. Supervised 15 Post- graduate dissertations and is supervising a Ph.D. student. She has 07 papers in National and International Journals of repute and is author of 03 books (01 book translated in Arabic). She is recipient of prestigious Chaturvedi Prize-2002, for the best research paper in Wildlife. She has published 25 International and National scientific papers and attended 05 Conferences/Seminar/Workshop. She is member of ASEAN - Wildlife Forensic Network and also submitted 01 gene sequence in Gene bank. She was invited as resource person for her inputs in 04 international and national training workshops on Wildlife Forensics. Her area of interest is zoology, environmental science and wildlife forensics.

Dr. Pushpa Maurya, M.Sc. (Biotechnology), Ph.D. (Biotechnology)

She has more than 10 years of teaching and research experience in the field of biotechnology and microbiology. She has supervised 20 Post-graduate dissertations. She has published 07 papers in renowned international journals and presented 25 papers in National and International Conferences. Her area of interest covers microbial and molecular genetics of enterobacterial microbes, immunological, molecular and microbial diagnostics, and bio-analytical techniques.

Dr. Vishal Rajput, M.Sc. (Fish & Fisheries and Ecology & Environment), Ph.D. (Ecology)

He holds more than 05 years of teaching experience and 03 years of research experience. He has supervised 10 Post-graduate dissertations and published 04 International and 07 National papers and is author of 02 books at International and 01 at National level. Dr. Vishal Rajput has attended various seminars with 16 published abstract in his credit. His area of interest is fish and fisheries, environmental toxicology and limnology.

Dr. Kumar Sachin, M.Sc. (Life Sciences), Ph.D. (Life Sciences)

He has also completed PG Diploma in Patent practice from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and certificate courses in IPR from WIPO. He has contributed in several publications in International peer-reviewed journals and presented his work in International as well as National conferences and workshops. He has guided 11 Post-graduate dissertations along with 01 PhD student working under his supervision. His research interests include biopolymer-based nanoparticulate drug delivery systems against tumour.

Dr. Maya Datt Joshi, M.Sc. (Biotechnology), Ph.D. (Life Science), Post Doctorate (Cancer cell biology)

Dr. Geeta Bhandari, M.Sc. (Microbiology), Ph.D. (Microbiology)

She has presented her work in 06 National and International Conferences. Her research interests include pesticide biodegradation using indigenous microorganisms and plant growth promotion using PGPR.

Dr. Rajib Sengupta, M.Sc. (Biochemistry), Ph.D. (Biochemistry) and Post Doctrate (Cancer)

Dr. Rajib Sengupta has 07 years of teaching, 15 years of research experience including 08 years of post doctorate research experience. He has published 19 International papers and presented scientific papers in 15 International and National Conferences/Seminar/Workshops. He has supervised 01 Post-graduate and 01 doctoral student as Co-supervisor. He persuaded his postdoctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (Pittsburgh, PA) and the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden where his research focused on the study of thioredoxin and glutaredoxin mediated redox regulations of Cancer and Parkinson’s Diseases. His area of interest is cancer.

Dr Rohit Saluja(M.Sc.-Biochemistry), (Ph.D. - Life Science), Post Doctorate – Allergy and Inflammation)

Dr Rohit Saluja has 7 years of research experience including 06 year of Post Doctoral experience. He has supervised 01 Post-graduate student and has published 18 international research articles, author of 01 Editorial, a chapter in 01 book and also contributed to Wikipedia (Mast cell TLRs). He has published 08 abstracts and attended 12 Seminars/Conferences. He has reviewed 15 journals. After Ph.D., he got the opportunity to join the lab of Prof. Gunnar Nilsson at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm (Sweden) and senior postdoctoral fellow with Prof Marcus Maurer at Charité – University of medicine, Berlin (Germany) where he explored the role of IL-33 in modulation of mast cell functions. Dr Rohit has He is mainly interested in Immunology, Mast cell biology, IL-33, Infection biology and Allergy.
